About NoFOMO

What NoFOMO is, how the board is ranked, and what we stand for.

What NoFOMO is

Every fifteen minutes or so, NoFOMO reads the first-hand sources on X (Twitter) in four fields: AI, open source, crypto and finance. It merges dozens of posts about the same story into one, drops ads and filler, and ranks the top 10 per field by how fast each story is gaining momentum. The board and story pages need no account. Sign up to join the discussion, read the top replies from X, browse older archives, and see what hit the top 3 while you were away.

How the board is ranked

  1. Sources. We mined candidate accounts from the follow graphs of core insiders in each field, then reviewed them with an LLM and by hand. We follow 545 first-hand sources: official accounts, founders, researchers and newswires. You can .
  2. Momentum. Posts rank by engagement velocity (likes, reposts, replies and quotes, decaying over time), normalized by the author's audience so a small account's scoop isn't buried under a celebrity's small talk. A big story remembers its peak and fades with a 6-hour half-life.
  3. Merging and filtering. An LLM merges posts about the same event, filters out promotions, airdrops, shilling and filler, and writes titles and summaries in English and Chinese.
  4. Story pages. Every story that makes the board gets its own page with its rank history, the top replies on X, and reader discussion.

How we use AI

What makes the board, how it ranks and which sources we follow come from rules and data, not from AI. An LLM does three jobs: it sorts posts into fields and flags ads and filler; it merges posts about the same event and writes the English and Chinese titles and summaries; and for stories that reach the top 3, it writes the key points and a summary of the reaction on X.

The model is told to write only from the posts themselves and add nothing beyond them. It can still misread a post or miss what matters, so every story page carries the full original post and a link to it. Check the original. Spot a mistake? and we'll correct or remove the story once we've checked it.
